I have a bird bath outside my computer room window, where I can watch birds while I work. I almost never photograph out there because the light is so poor (side light and shade) and I don't like to shoot through windows. However, now and then I can't resist.

This baby cardinal was around all morning, his dad was feeding him. He was so cute, I had to try to photograph him. I had to trash a lot of images but I was happy with these two, especially considering the conditions. This is with a handheld 40D and a 400DO at f/4, ISO 320, 1/40 at a distance of about 10'. I did not capture the feeding behavior but I did get this bathing beauty image.

This is how he looked, before bathing, same handheld camera and lens and f stop, ISO 640, 1/80 at about 15'. Perhaps they will return tomorrow morning.
