Picasa - Google In The Photo biz

I've just downloaded and installed Picasa version 2 to see if it's useful for organizing photos. I miss a program that can organize photos and show me an overview with thumbnails. OK, Canon ZoomBrowser EX can do this, but I'm looking for something with more features, for example searching photos by keyword.

Picasa 2 does support RAW files, it sees all my 10D CRW files.

Is anybody else using Picasa? Is it useful?

I've just downloaded and installed it. First time you run Picasa, it scans all your hard drives and builds catalog of all your images, organized per year. I haven't gotten further yet, but it seems like a very nice program (it's getting even nicer when you consider the price)

Also supports RAW including CR2 and even Adobe DNG.

I use iMatch for catalogging. It may be overkill for many people but I like it's databasing and programming abilities.

I had used PICASA 1.6 for a while, it was ok just to go look at my stuff.

WOW this is great, I can do simple edits (to see if I actually like the look and if so I do them in PS) You can have it manage a Screensaver w/folder etc. It makes collages. yada yada yada
