Hiked Mt. Washington this weekend starting at 2am, and getting to the summit around 5:30. On the way up I was only able to take one night shot since I was hiking with a group. I made some slight color adjustments, straightened the image, and attempted to remove some moon-flare. Let me know what you think, and if the frame works with this image.

Excellent spot, and I really like the setup. I also like the shutter speed you used for the water.

Its underexposed a bit for me. Also, a bit too cool. I usually like the cooler pictures but this might be a little too cold. I bet there is a million colors in there at 6 am.

The star trails are pretty cool too. Nice shot. It would be interesting to see some variations with different "creative" white balance settings. I think the frame is a little too heavy for the shot.

EDIT:

Here is a fairly extreme warming of the WB in ACR and a different frame, just a suggestion - hope you don't mind my messing with your shot. The heavy black frame made the tall and narrow shot a little claustrophobic-y for me, the exact opposite of being in the wilderness. The banding in the sky is probably JPEG'ing a JPEG artifact.

I really like the shot, the composition works really well. The black border though is very claustrophobic, I think the white works better. As for the shot, its way too cool and a bit dark so hope you don't mind...

Hey! Go nuts with the editing, I wouldn't of posted here if I didn't want you guys to play with the shot. I agree with the frame thing, I just wanted to see what you guys thought. In terms of the white balance, I did cool it down a bit, but I wanted to try to re-create the scene as I remembered it. Moonlight on a clear night is very cool.

Here is the original photo, straight from the camera for comparison. As you can see, it is a bit crooked, the streak is more prevalent, and it is warmer.
