I have a rather new Canon 40D. I need to get one or two more compact flash cards since I shoot almost exclusively high speed sports. I was thinking an 8GB or even a 16GB. Does anyone have some advise on what is my best choice and what is my best cost? Thanks everyone!

Some people say brand doesn't matter...I personally disagree with that theory. I use SanDisk memory cards exclusively. This will probably end up under the heading of famous last words, but while people around me were using brand x cards and experiencing failures and data corruption....I never had an issue...and even when I thought I did have an issue...it turned out to be a problem within Vista and not a card problem. Prices for memory cards are all over the map....the only recommendation I will make is that you buy from a known reputable dealer. Half the crap found on ebay is fake and doesn't live up to expectations, if it even works at all.

I too, use SanDisk only and recommend them.

I used to use Kingston cards but have just switched to Sandisk as there must be a reason why they're popular. Kingston cards have never let me down.

Okie dokie then. It looks like you guys have made the decision pretty easy for me. I currently have a 512MB and a 1GB SanDick Ultra II. The record speed for the Ultra II is 15MBs. I see the Extreme is 30MBs. I shoot almost only action sports like football and lacrosse. Does the 15MBS vs. the 30MBs make much if any difference? I don't want to buy the Extreme if it will not make much of a difference for what I do. Thanks for your help!
