A ride about...

This was the 2nd day of using my camera. all these shots have been taken in manual.
the shots havent been processed.

kit used: 350D with EF 28-90mm lens (no tripod)

tell me what u guys think

They are all out of focus. You need to work on picking a focus point and, for low light, steadying the camera (tripod, monopod, rest the camera on something...)

Interesting pics, but a tripod would definitely help at night when you're shooting without a flash.

In addition to the tripod, also try changing your white balance per the location.

at night its hard to choose a focus point, where would u have focused it?

plus its hard to lug a tripod around on a motorbike

Agree.maybe start out trying P, TV or AV, just to get your focus going.

In a general landscape type pic like you posted, where there isn't a special focus point (a singular thing of interest, more of a general scene), then pic a spot where light meets shadow. This will help your camera's auto-focus lock in.

Keep the shutter depressed half way and frame the shot you want.

As for the motorbike, I ride mine everywhere and carry a monopod with me. They are a lot lighter and a lot smaller than most decent tripods. With a monopod, you can set the camera on it, lean it against a curb, wall, post, car or your bike and lock it in spot with your foot. That will give you a firm foundation for the long exposure shots.

IMHO, I'm thinking that maybe the subjects and the theme are not interresting enough to consider unless this series was meant to be an exercise for learning. Sorry.

it was sorta ment to be a learning curve but i was hoping it was going to be a little interesting. not to worry

i suppose i could try and fit a monopod in my bag
