Still learning HDR techniques.

What can I do better here, fire away?

Hey, I know this sign, I live in the area. Quite frankly, I don't think this subject makes for a good HDR photo. There doesn't seem to be a large varying dynamic range here anyways. I think a single photo may have just been better, even more so with a polarizer (for the clouds). Try a skyline shot at a sunset, or near dusk, that may turn out better.

Without seeing exactly what you started with, it is difficult to know what progress you made here.

Looking at the Luminosity Histogram in PSCS3 suggests that your final product has considerable clipping at both ends. HDR is designed specifically to enable you to avoid that.

If we knew what HDR software you used, perhaps we could offer a more detail suggestion on how to fix that.

Understand that the picture has no obvious gross failings - it's just that the histogram certainly indicates that there is still significant range of tonality at both ends being clipped.

Thanks for the feedback. My intention was to capture the structural support as part of the sign and show people how beefy this thing really is. I see what you're saying though, perhaps I'll break out the CPL next time.

Thanks Robert, I was writing while you posted. This was done in photomatix alone (instead of photomatix and CS3) like my others. Once again, the emphasis for me was to show people the sign and the inner supporting structures (along the right hand vertical in this photo)
