Last night while burning CDs of old files (I thought of using another HD for archiving, but I have all these CDs gathering dust...oh well)...any way...my monitor flickered and skipped a line while I clicked "DELETE" and not looking I did so of over 1000 pix I'd not yet saved...of course, too many to send to the recycle bin and in a haze I just deleted them all...directly to oblivion...

Fortunately I had stored them on a HD other than my OS drive so I know all was not really lost...just needed somewhere to turn to to locate the right recovery software to download from the net...

Turned here...and in a few minutes' search found the right couple of threads and programs that explained just what I needed to do...

and all is fine today...thanks to the many of you who take the time to post ideas and solutions for the 'thumbs' among us that rear themselves up and stick it to us in the middle of the lonely black night...

Thank you...thank you...thank you...

Although I am not particularly helpful, I had nothing at all to do with those threads, or your data recovery, or the running of this site... you're welcome.

a freebie...

some Jpegs were corrupted...but raw files recovered...I'm still "in recovery" and sifting through to see what/how much I lost, but given what I've already gotten I am real grateful...

Again...I'm lucky to have saved them on a separate HD, and to have plenty of space on another HD partition OTHER THAN THE OS PARTITION...IT PAYS TO PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR FAILURE...AND STUPIDITY...
