I'm looking to buy an external flash for my rebel xti and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a good choice. Should I stick with a canon speedlite or do other brands perform just as well? Any input would be great thanks! = )

I recently bought a 430 EX 1 and it works very well with my 40D. I think this would give you more than enough power, but if you are willing to look into a used unit a 580 ex 1 may be a wise choice.

is the Sigma EF 530 DG ST equivelant to the 430 EX from Canon or is the 430 EX overall a better flash and investment?
