I sent my 2 sandisk rebate forms out separately, got the $30 for the extreme IV and I supposedly did not supply the UPC for the $20 extreme III rebate... At least I got the $30.
Me thinks we are indeed seeing a pattern already. From the beginning, I was concerned that this would indeed be the case with these "rebates". But against m better judgement I went ahead and bought three cards from BeachCamera.com. While I know retailers are not directly responsible, I also believe the are at the least culpible to a small degree and should be responsible in supporting customers when such patterns begin to emerge. If for no other reason the erroneous denials do reflect on the retailer as well as decrease the likelihood a customer would buy from them again.
Basically if people hold the retailers feet to the fire for supporting these very problematic programs it might have an effect on how it works...but given that people have had these issues for a couple decades now, I doubt it will ever change.
I have yet to make the time to call and see what happens. I am due the $160 rebate.
Seriously, part of me thinks it would have been better just buying on eBay, counterfeit or not...at least I would have saved the rebate, or more, upfront. And to be honest how are all these denials different from the fake card scams that can be found on eBay and other sites.
