and if you buy two of them, you pay $25 each cause the rebate is $100.

Dang, nice prices. Too bad it isn't instant savings. Because, I don't have that much to spend on CF cards right now.

FYI, I sent in my info and doco for the last round of rebates and had my rebate denied for not including the UPC codes...they were stapled to the form. At least I saved a photocopy and will try and get it...but, this is my history with ALL mail-in rebates. And we are talking decades of problematic rebates.

Even if I do end up getting this problem fixed, I am done period with such rebates.

I just got denied my $50 rebate from sandisk.

Got a Card in the mail stating purchase was made outside of qualifying period.

Rebate was from 4/6 - 6/29 I bought the cards on 5/18.

From what I have seen searching the web sandisk is screwing alot of people over on there rebate programs.

I will buy a different company on the next memory cards I purchase, the rebate was the only reason I went with extreme III's.

I sent my 2 sandisk rebate forms out separately, got the $30 for the extreme IV and I supposedly did not supply the UPC for the $20 extreme III rebate... At least I got the $30.

Me thinks we are indeed seeing a pattern already. From the beginning, I was concerned that this would indeed be the case with these "rebates". But against m better judgement I went ahead and bought three cards from BeachCamera.com. While I know retailers are not directly responsible, I also believe the are at the least culpible to a small degree and should be responsible in supporting customers when such patterns begin to emerge. If for no other reason the erroneous denials do reflect on the retailer as well as decrease the likelihood a customer would buy from them again.

Basically if people hold the retailers feet to the fire for supporting these very problematic programs it might have an effect on how it works...but given that people have had these issues for a couple decades now, I doubt it will ever change.

I have yet to make the time to call and see what happens. I am due the $160 rebate.

Seriously, part of me thinks it would have been better just buying on eBay, counterfeit or not...at least I would have saved the rebate, or more, upfront. And to be honest how are all these denials different from the fake card scams that can be found on eBay and other sites.

Robert,

You just have to keep after them. Call the 800# and tell them your troubles, just stick to the rebate related ones! ;) I had to call the rebate company after the obligatory 6-8 weeks and then she still could not find it and just took my onfo over the phone. Just make sure you tell them you have copies of EVERYTHING, even of you don't. It seems to make things go smoother. The asked me if I had copies and I said yes and the Rep just said OK and processed it. Still took another month to mail but I DID get it eventually. I just sent off my last one (worked out to $26 per card for 4gb IV's) last week and I imagine I will have to do this again. For $160 I think it will be worth it.

thanks for the positive vibes Scott. I am going to try them this week. And, yeah, $160 is worth the effort...it's the better part of the 24-60 f/2.8 I was intending to add soonest.

i'm one for two also with sandisk rebates.

young america runs the sandisk rebates and they are a scam outfit. they also ran the double rebates for canon a couple of years ago and they hosed alot of people that time too.

they tried to con me out of $700 bucks when i got the 5d and 24-105L -- said i did not attach original UPCs -- but eventually made it right after a couple of calls.
