Hi,

I have seen some of the noobs here in my region who are using my photographs by removing my tags from them and saying they are their own.

I want to know, how can we sue those guys who are doing in such a way? Is there any online company who can work with us to protect our efforts from being enjoyed by others?

I can't help you in India but in the US A party may seek to protect his or her copyrights against unauthorized use by filing a civil lawsuit in federal district court.

Talk to an attorney if you believe that your copyright has been infringed if you want to take it that far.
Sorry if this does not help.

India? No clue, here. Put a bigger © notice on them. Put the exif © info into them with photoshop. Or, don't put them online?

Is there a lawyer specialising in copyright in your city/town??

dont know, havent got any chance with such things before. But I have contacted the owner of the website where they were publishing my images. He said he dont have any thing to do with, but I should rather contact and resolve the matter with the publisher.

Somewhat of a universal legal note is the Cease and Desist, in some countries known as " Or else I will knock your arse down".

Basically a certified letter to the Publisher and Website Hosting Company, explaining that you are the owner of the photographs, and that you are in the process of taking legal action against that person/s and businesses. Then you ask them to kindly stop hosting or promoting those photographs, or face legal action (or else).

Good luck. Another thing that may help in the future aside from a good watermark on the photo, is to always publish smaller size photographs. That way you can always show up with the original size and resolution images, and prove ownership.

yaa.. But the worst thing here is, he is one of my friend who tried using the images without my consent. He was having the full format as I did not know what he gonna do with that. No when asked him to remove the pics, he simply refused.

That does not sound like a very good friend sir.
Perhaps a bit more of studying the situation and its consequences will give you more options.
Best of luck,

Chances are the website host won't want to get involved.

You need to get serious with your "friend" and indicate that legal action will be taken if he doesn't do what you've asked. Not really a friendship if he has so little respect for you ... :(

One solution from here. Either take him to court or move on to be honest. There are not really many other options.

I had a chance to see the photos. They were mostly posted in forum environments. So long as you are able to stop and question him every time, I do not see a great deal of harm.

Yes, inappropriate to say the least. But I am not sure you will get actual results. If these were displayed for commercial purposes, you could create a much bigger oomph. But given the situation, it really looks as if this friend was out to make a really bad joke, or just plain bother you.

No, he's not one of your friends. Not even slightly.
