Took a helicopter tour in Las Vegas last week and got some nice shots while up in the air. C&C welcome...it was my first taking shots from a helicopter and plan to do it again sometime in the future. If you are interested in what I flew in for the tour...here is the thread of the helicopter. LINKY

Thanks Jaime. The Lake Mead one is one of the better of the two I shot. I have to post up the Hoover Dam one next.

From the air shots are always interesting. A whole other way of looking at the world. I like the second shot for the change in color of the ground, in man made lines. I wonder what the heck that is about. :)

Thanks. I got a shot of the other end of the strip when we came in for a landing, though a lot lower altitude.

Thanks, I agree about from the air shots. I noticed the different change in color of the soil, but I don't know what it was. It could very well have been a land fill. We did fly over the waste water treatment plant on the way to that mountain.

Mitch, here is a close up of that area....I still cannot make out what it is. Looks like there is some sort of radar there on the left.

Yeah, that is weird. Lines that start and end in nowhere, looks like some kind of wall around it, but from the size of the radome, that would be one huge wall. It could be some kind of surface mining operation, but it's more likely our tax dollars being wasted.

 you are probably right. It appears that one of the lines/roads head up to the shadow of the mountain.
