Before & After

These are 3 of the photos I've added to my site for editing samples. Is anyone else out there doing the same kind of thing? Any ideas about presenting it better than the black background? I don't like the "before" and "after" either. I want the pictures to stand out, so maybe I should leave it on black???? Hum???? Ideas? Samples of what you do???

I think the last two are good edits (the only extra thing I would do would be to make the darks a little darker to add pop).
The first one is very iffy because your edit completely changed her look. She probably wouldn't be too happy if she purposefully styled her hair that way.

LOL! Yes, it does change her look. We did that shot for the purpose of an extreme edit like that.

Thanks!!! I wanted the second shot...with the black hat....to look like it was on a bright white background. I was afraid I overdid it. I went really bright on the hand so that it was not the focus.

I'm always second guessing myself.

I really like the second one

I thought it was a great series. Outstanding way to introduce the ever so underestimated process of fine tuning photographs. In this digital world the masses seem to think the old Dark Room has been completely removed from the process.

It's a good way to show clients, prospects, and students what Post Prod is all about, and how a normal looking photo (meaning something not that impossible to achieve by a regular person) can be turned into a great image.

Thumbs up from me. I have done this with restoration Samples, negatives, etc.
Now it makes me want to add a few of these of my own. Maybe in a few days, when I don't feel so much of a copy cat.
