I spent the day at B&H with a friend, if you have never been there, you have no idea as to how much business they do in person daily. I figured that I would walk in, and in about 30 minutes I would walk out with items in hand. Think again, try close to three hours, and I waited in line to order my item, check it, then meet it downstairs at the check out counter(yes, I said meet my purchase at the check out counter). That place is a hive of bees working to process orders and keep the lines moving. Look over your heads if you go there in person and watch the conveyors moving your products to the checkout area. It is an amazing place, and they rarely get things wrong, how is that for service?

Yeap, definately a wild store.

I've noticed the lenses being out of stock, too...must be the olympics...or, as a result of the price hikes, something is up. Even most of the 'non-us' lenses are out of stock. Weird.

Actually, the Olympics are a very Major reason. It's not just Canon. Getting your hands on Nikon gear is almost impossible right now. Canon & Nikon, have stockpiled cases of gear at the Olympics, since it is the World's Premier Photographed Event. Happens every year, that the Olympics occur, whether it be Summer or Winter. The smaller vendors are not affected as much, as their inventory is usually less, and enough to handle their respective markets, vs being a B&H or Adorama.

So will there be a flood of used gear available after the Olympics?

And if there are enough people in the store they start to give away free soda and snacks =) --- while you wait.
