Well, you'll probably want sweeping landscapes, plus the ability to isolate detail from a distance, when you're on the other side of things.

For 3 lenses, I'd take my Tokina 12-24, Tamron 17-50 and 70-200 f/4L IS. I would probably also have my fisheye for a shot of the entire site from a high vantage point.

BTW...very jealous. I'd love to go to Machu Picchu.

Just have 6 days gap between 2 business meeting, so I will swing from Lima to Cuzco. ;)

Crop body
- Sigma 10-20
- Canon 17-55 2.8 IS

Full frame
- Canon 17-40L
- Canon 24-105L IS

I dont think more than that will be needed to be honest. Simple and easy list for me IMO.

Of the choices you gave>
16-35 II Definite
50 1.2L Low light 35L would be an alternative low light choice.
70-200 F/4IS

This would be a great kit for any trip.

I'm mainly a prime guy. So 35L, 85 1.8, and 135L. BTW you have 135L on the poll 2 times.

Either hit the edit button and do it. Or message a moderator to fix it for you. Have fun on your trip.

Now that the poll is up (I was too quick.) I selected the 16-35, the 70-200 and the 15 fisheye.

You need to take 6 lenses, which means you need a big, strapping, POSERISH sort of fellow to carry your gear for you. Hmmm....I wonder where you'd find a guy like that...

I voted for the 16-35II, 24-105 and the 70-200, though I could see taking the 100-400. But given free choice, I'd go for:

17-40
24-105
70-200/4 IS

At this moment, seems like 16-35 is a must and 70-200 is head to head with 100-400.

But I am worry about the low light in the morning and the sun set :(

100-400L, 50/1.2L

A lot of landscape opps, so the 16-35L-II first...
For the general shooting in potentially shadowed areas of the ruins the 50/1.2L...
And because I watched Sunrise Earth (location was machu picchu) and saw a lot of interesting birds I'd take the 100-400L...but if you have the 50-500 and a tripod...take it instead! ;)

Something worth considering is weight, though. Machu Picchu is a good hike up in altitude and I have read that the second half of the trip can make some people a little dizzy from the lower oxygen level.
