there are times that i use "auto" in order to see what settings will be chosen and the shot comes out ok...However, if i put the camera in "manual" and use those same settings, the shot is NOT right, AT ALL...
Why is this??

In manual, you have to "manually" pop up the flash if you want it to fire. yeah the flash was being used both times.....Must've been the ISO...THanks guys!!
