From my recent experience, I was looking for a light shoulder bag for a day out type shooting. I have a 30D with 17-55 mounted, 70-200f4, 50 1.4, a canon videocam, a p&s, and accessories needing to go in it.

I ordered a J-3, F-3xb, F-802, and J-803. I kept the F-3 because it felt small, conformed to my body, is a small bag when not much is in it, can fit surprisingly LOTS of gear in it for such a small looking bag, strap felt great, easy to work out of, and looks great. I chose the ballistic material over nylon because i have a 9month-old who could spit up on the bag when we're out. I also have a little dog who might decide that he wanted to mark my gear his if I left it on the floor.

I really liked the J-803 as well but couldn't justify keeping it since the F-3 was a better fit. The J-803 was just the right size as a satchel type bag for a day out. It can fit LOTS as well. I was torn on shipping it back.

The J-3 looked like it would fit what I was looking for until I received it. It does carry LOTS and is extremely well padded but it was too stiff and too bulky for my taste. If I need to carry more than what the F-3 would hold, I wouldn't be enjoying my day out:) That's just me tho, your shoulders might could withstand more. I am 5' 11" about 195lb.

The F-802 was plain too big as a satchel for my taste. It looked awkward hanging on my side:) Just personal preference here.

Hope that helps...

Huey

Well I received the J3 and F3. The F3 is a great bag. My wife even likes it. It's a little tricky with my Nikkor 24-70, the hood on this lens is huge. The J3 seems to have more room, but it's a little bit bulkier then what I need for something to just go out and have fun with. I'll let you guys know what I end up doing.
