I don't want to be without mine, but, the wife has her own 5D...so, it's not like I'll miss out too much.

I've decided to take the voucher, and use it. It's going out in the morning...insured, packed nice and tight, with the appropriate info., and the voucher. Better use it, rather than lose it...and this way, it'll come back nice and clean.

Thanks all. Next time, I'll deal with the removal myself...should that ever happen.

Well, out of nowhere, I got my camera back today... :)

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work (even though I had it delivered here). :(

It's OK, I'll wait patiently, till I get home...yeah...right...

Oh, and +1 for Canon Service. Everything was fixed, per specs, viewfinder cleaned (by quick view thru the viewfinder with lens cap off) so no more dust in the viewfinder, and well, the rest is up to me testing it, when I get home. Turnaround was REALLY quick...they got it last Saturday, and it's here today, Friday. I'll do the wall test, to check the sensor. Hopefully it's clean...though, it wasn't 'bad' to begin with. The rocket takes care of most stuff.

You can't see sensor dust by looking through the peephole. :)

Thats what the peephole is. You can not see sensor dust by looking through the viewfinder peephole. The only way to see it is to take a picture and look at it. You can see dust on the mirror sometimes and on the focus screen, but the sensor is behind the shutter, so no way to see it unless you are cleaning the sensor and even then, most dust is well, dust, too small to see. :)

Ah, you meant you had dust on the viewfinder itself? My turn, duh... :)

Hehe..yeah, there was dust in the viewfinder, for sure. Also existed on the sensor. So, I had them clean both...and take the stupid broken screw out. Though, I'm not sure what the 'adjusted focus and exposure' work done to it was...so, I'm hoping that it's all good. They also said upgraded the firmware, but, I though I already had the latest? Maybe there's a new one I don't know about, that's not released as yet? Who knows...I just hope it's all good, when I get home.
