There is a soccer tourney going on right down the street from where I am at in Washington. So I decided to go shoot some.

Enjoy

it was a cloudy day. Wanted to make sure I got the eyes. I will double check to see if I can get them without blowing out the white as much.

1st picture doesnt come up
2nd picture doesnt have much going on but I suppose the exposure is alright. I dont care too much about slightly blown highlights on white shirts. Heres a secret too ... Publishers dont really either ;) If you get a good capture, nobody is going to sit there going, "Oh well gee mate. This would be spot on if some of the white highlights werent blown"
3rd picture has the timing a tad off for me personally and I dont like the fact the chaps hand is cropped off.

If you want some C&C read on ...

I think the background can be just as important as the foreground. In the first picture there is an OOF guy walking away from the action. If he's not interested in the ladies, then why should I be interested?

If you want to short-circuit some C&C, you might add your own when you post your pics, as in, "I know I cut the fuschia player in half and the guy in the background is totally bored, but I liked how the ball handler is really concentrated and focussed on ball." You did some of this in your follow-up post. :)

Matt, nice stuff here. On my monitor the whites look good...I'd rather see the faces and eye and it the whites are a little blown...I could live with it.
