Wow... now that's interesting. Not sure if I could get used to using one of those, though. I'll stick with my Crown Vic or Dodge Charger for now.

I would have to take a wild guess and say that these are not intended for chasing people. Rather, these let the cops rest while getting around so they are more than ready for a foot chase. Just a guess, though. I remember walking a beat... had its advantages, but being well rested wasn't one of them. I was always really sore by the end of the week.

lol actually ive seen a promotional video that shows them chasing after people but its got to be the most unrealistic chase scene. just hop up a curb or run up some steps and your free. haha

I couldn't even imagine the frustration of being stopped by a curb!

Me stuck on a curb: Damn you funky robotic vehicle thing! Damn you and your fat tire and portly body! Damn you too, curb!

You standing on the sidewalk: Ha ha!

So, after making fun of these things, guess what happens when I get to work today? I walk into a co-workers office (he runs the jail) and sitting there on his desk is a brochure for these things! Wha? You have got to be kidding me! Luckily I don't work in the jail, so I don't have to ride these things and feel like mall security.

Reading the brochure I discovered that the top speed is 25 MPH. Woah... faster than I expected, and no, you can't run 25 miles per hour, considering that the fastest runner in the world ran at 27. Us mere mortals won't get close to that speed.

Of course, that just means that I would tip over quicker when I ran into a curb.
