Must be an armadillo. I've never seen one that wasn't dead on the road!

I've never seen one that small and in a ball like that. That is funny.

Yeah, we have them here, and my hubby saw one in the field and thought he was going to try to catch it. Needless to say, it left him behind. The texture of the "shell" is interesting in that it is flexible, yet still hard, and warm too. Had one that I finally caught in the act of digging up 2/3's of my flowers, so I shot it. Played with it for a while just because it was so unique. And was I worried about leprosy. No. Only cases have been reported in Louisiana and I think Texas. Heard some people say they are good to eat, but I was too chicken and had no idea on where to even begin. In any case, how did you get it to roll up in the first place?!?

It was already like that. I'm not sure if it was sleeping or not.
