Well, just got my new 300mm to replace the one Canon couldn't fix after I and the lens fell into the drink three weeks ago. It didn't get submerged but I guess enough moisture got in to render it irreparable. Anyway, that's not why I'm posting.
I was down at our local state park on Lake Erie today and caught sight of this kingfisher fishing from a goose/duck house. It was so interesting watching the kingfisher hover for several seconds and then plunge into the water. I've never seen this behavior before; I was enthralled. I understand that these pics are not great but I just wanted to share what this behavior looks like for anyone who's never seen it.
