Here is a couple of photos I took last week of the Morning sun breaking through the clouds. It was taken while I was on Wake Island. C&C always welcome. Which do you prefer and why?

The silhouette is nice and the sky is somewhat dramatic, but overall the picture does little to get your interest - except to wonder what that plant looks like in daylight.

Both pictures are overly centered in the horizontal direction.

The 2nd picture has a bad tilt downward at the left. It also has a domewhat dramatic sky but is missing a point of interest.

OH, I thought that silhouette was someones hairdo! - jk

I'm in line with Robert here. Nice captures but little to hold interest.

Think about NOT using the word "retarded" in a derogatory manner - it insults those who cannot defend themselves - and hurts the ones who love them. Please see: http://www.r-word.org/ (external link)

In the second shot I would have placed the sun ball at one of the 1/3 intersections and I would have made sure that it was level (correcting as necessary in pp), and I would make sure to inclue a bit more water at the expense of some of the sky.

Then I would make sure that I had a lone figure walking into the scene down near the water's edge in silhouette. A boat on the horizon would be icing on the cake.
