Playing with some off camera flash and umbrella's.. I finally got my 12 year old daughter to pose for a few minutes. 3 similar shots, but I think I'm liking the third one the most.

Her expression does seem to feel more natural in the third shot, like she was more relaxed. You also got more highlight in her hair and smaller shadows under the arm and chin (compared to #2) I think a hair more space over the top of her head would be good.

I like them all, but I agree that the 3rd is probably the best.

+1 for the 3rd shot. I feel it is the most natural of all 3.

Thanks for your comments. It was my first time using off camera flash with a real person rather than objects from around the house. It was fun, but still so much to learn. Thanks again.

WOW! She's really growing up! It happens so fast.... and she's a cute girl... :)

I agree that the 3rd shot seems to be the best, but the first shot might surprise you if you crop it tighter to her face... I like the expression there.... kind of grown up... but sweet just the same. :)

She sure is a beauty, Sandi. The 3rd shot does it for me but I also like the first one.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

ibid - Lock her up.

I agree with the smile comment also - but that's not what your asking for here. Is it just me or my monitor - or does this (these) shot seem a stop over exposed? Maybe drop it down a notch or adjust the brightness???

Ugghh, to think I'm going to be in that kind of trouble in another 4-5 years.

Think about NOT using the word "retarded" in a derogatory manner - it insults those who cannot defend themselves - and hurts the ones who love them. Please see: http://www.r-word.org/ (external link)
