Yeah, that's usually the way. They love to sit on posts and call, so I've gotten a couple like that, but usually when they are in the grass, I can't even see them, so yeah I was glad to get this.

Thanks Mitch, they are pretty numerous around here -- at least along the front range and plains (not in the mountains). That's one thing I love here is you can just go east or west to completely different climate areas. :)

Kinda long, I don't know that it was particularly stretching in this shot - certainly it was taking notice of me, so maybe. Probably leg wise about like a flicker or a robin..
