There are correction gels and creative gels. Basically they look like colored transparencies.

Correction gels are used to balance different lighting conditions (such as using flash with tungsten).

Creative gels are colors such as red, blue, green, etc. that can be used to throw color to a part of the scene.

All you need to do is place the gel over the flash or strobe head by using tape or a gel holder.

ic, i got a bunch of gels from my strobist kit
not sure if they are correction or creative
so would you use the creative for the background/surrounding​s?
or would it be okay to shoot wit the creative gel to the subject witout making their skin turn to a different color?

Here is a quick one I did tonight experimenting,one flash to light the flower & coloured gel for the background.Pity the only flower was a few days old lol

so far I've received 3 different shipments of these free flash gels. I only signed up once. I'm not complaining but I was wondering if anyone else had similar luck! :) PS amazing shots I'm a huge fan of "Primaphoto"s shot!!!
