Can someone help me to find the best way to edit very large batches of photos. I have CS2 and Elements 4. For examples lets say I have 100 photos that need to be sharpened etc approx the same as a start...can I do a basic sharpen to the bunch? I have done limited editing but only one at a time and I am trying to speed up the process a bit. I have searched the forum but can't find exactly what I am looking for. Thanks for your help

Hi Maria, it sounds like you need Actions. CS2 has an Actions palette, which lets you record the steps you perform on one image, and repeat those steps on other images.

So I could select a folder for example and repeat steps using Actions to all pics contained in it? Or am I asking for miracles?

That's right. That's adding another step - you need to use File > Scripts > Image Processor for that. It allows you to run the action you created on a folder full of images.

Load up one image in your batch and create an action with the processing that you want to do with all the images:

Once the action is created, goto File -> Automate -> Batch:

- Select the action you just created
- Select the folder with your photos which need the processing
- Select an output folder to save the finished photos

Hit OK and watch the magic happen, done.

If this is an action that you will use regularly, then save even more time by creating a droplet. A droplet can be created in the Automate menu as well.
