Hung out at Willow Run for a few hours today, and yes, this is pretty normal traffic, no air show going on!

Great pics. I wish I had "normal traffic" like that where I am!

Nice! Like this set...especially the B-17. Did you happen to take a shot of the B-24 nose art? I'd like to see a close up of it.

No I did not personally, but they have a picture of it on the aircrafts website.

Very nice! Great blur, too.
Does anyone want to start a pool on what time a patch of blue sky appears on Sunday, & how long it will last? My bet is for 10 minutes at lunchtime. :D

I'd say twice a week I grab my daughter and run outside to see Yankee Lady or the B-25 that flies around go over my house. The engines sound sweet. The Lady sometimes buzzes my office on Plymouth Rd in the 48150.

Great shots. Where did you shoot from?

Yeah, if there is a cloud in the sky, my 400 5.6 won't work, too slow!

The list of planes looks great - http://www.yankeeairmuseum.org/airshow/aircraft.htm (external link)

Who signed up for the photo tour? I passed, worried I'd be stuck in China unable to refund the $$.

That, Jay...is bliss. Thanks, the one in the link above was not a big shot, though it was a detail shot. I like your flying shot better that the website one ;).

I never knew there was still an A model still flying.

Speaking of buzzing, I live outside the city limits and military aircraft are always flying over my house. I'm not in the flight path for any of the military bases, but the aircraft that fly over me are always on their way to the shooting/large scale training area North of me. This morning, a Chinook passed overhead and I couldn't get outside fast enough to get a shot of it. A few months ago, 8 C-130's flew over. While I watched them get over that training base, they all unloaded the paratroopers....though I was way too far away for a shot.:(

I was sitting in the parking lot of Hangar 2, south west side of the airport, where the "temporary" Yankee Air Museum is located, as well as Kalitta.
