I've been a member of POTN for 6 years now, and I've really become fond of this forum... it's the best of it's kind... I consider most of the members here an extension of my family.

This week we found out that my brother has been diagnosed with advanced kidney cancer, and that things may not be looking good. We find out this week whether or not it is treatable.

To help take my mind off things for short periods, when I'm not taking pictures, I love visiting POTN. I really thank Pekka and the mods for this privilege.

If it's not asking too much, I would love it if some of you would take the time to think positive thoughts (or prayers if you wish) directed at my brother, who is too young to have to deal with this. I really believe in the power of positive thinking, especially en mass.

Once again, thanks to everybody here for the pleasure you've given me in the past, and I hope for a long time to come. We may not have all gotten along always, but life is too short to bicker about small things in life.

Kind regards

I will most definately keep your brother and family in my thoughts and prayers. And I think you are correct that POTN is really a family. Keep the faith as you go through this.

I will do the same, and I agree as well.

Thanks guys, very nice of you all.
It's interesting how a few of you use the term "positive thoughts". I really do think this can make a HUGE difference, and I think that's why you often hear about people miraculously beating life threatening situations.

My Grandfather is currently undergoing treatment for kidney cancer. He's had highs and lows, but he's hanging in there. All the best to your brother and your family as you go forward. Positive thoughts are the only ones worth having.

Wow, ibdb, thanks for sharing the info. Drop me a pm if you have any words of experience that may help.
And all the best to your grandfather.

I'm sorry that's happening to your family.

Thoughts and prayers for good news, and a real recovery.

Count me in Dris. I work on a surgical unit where we do cancer treatments every week. It is amazing what they can do these days. Sending prayers your way.

I'm very sorry to hear this sad news. My grandfather is being treated for advanced prostate cancer right now, and your brother is in our thoughts.

My family has a history of kidney "issues", but I can only begin to try and understand what you're going through. My thoughts are with you, your brother, and family.
