Well, trying to improve the mags and stuff so wondering what anyone thinks of this as something to drop in photos quick (in other words no cutting the background out). Had a different design but was trying to hide other kids in the main photo so did a re-design - and also his name is boxed out in the box.

One with the kid Kicking the ball might be better.

Well am more worried about the design at this point - but that's what he's doing, dribbling down the field between two defenders...actual contact foot on ball means head down, parents dont want a pic of the top of there kids head.

Hmm looks too segmented to me there is no flow. I would remove some of the boxes the text are in and let the lettering float on the page.

I think it looks fine with two exceptions...one being the candid shot seems off center and is more of a distraction, and two - I would either enlarge the Main Title or the Photo. Then layer/mask the photo over the top of the lettering. M

I actually dont mind the image MJ. For me, the title lacks punch. Do you just supply the images or contribute the actual layout and design?

second take is definitely better. what about craeting all the border stuff as a png and then just dropping the photo in as a full page image with the opacity of the png setup to let the image come through. Just another thought that stays with a template type concept to keep things easy.

all in all, very cool design man. can't believe it soccer season already!

Do you know how long it took for me to figure out what the heck you were talkin about at first? The answer is about a minute, but I was sitting here wondering "who's he talking to?" Until I looked at my post of the mag - yes I am a hardcore Mets fan, how big of a Mackey Sasser fan as a kid you wanna know (ok you don't but still), I even emulated his throw back....wore #2 with a big wad of big league chew in the cheek in Little League. Was a little mad last year, his game worn jersey came on Ebay for $150 and I put off buyin it - went to purchase (buy it now) and someone already got it....

My other favs like Tom Prince, Benny Distefano, Dann Bilardello have all gotten to work with in pro ball as they're all coaches now. Mackey is a coach in college but haven't met him yet.

I have everything in layers and can drop in the pic pretty easy on that design - you can do what you're saying just using layers (or least I think you're saying). Soccer season ENDS next week, it's been soccer for awhile!
