This bugger was robbing my bird feeder. He jumped from that bare branch in the back and almost ended up on the ground (15 ft drop)

I got it!

Some fun shots there, they are such determined little critters.

She is tenacious too, back yesterday and today. I think I am going to add some red pepper to the bird feeder and then build a feeder for the squirrels. She is a nursing mother (got some closeups yesterday that show that) so I want to go ahead and keep feeding her, but I want some bird to use the bird feeder too!

I went ahead and built a little feeder for the mama squirrel.

Didn't take her long to figure out where it was. Now I can add cayanne to the other feeder so she'll leave it alone.

David, you're wonderful being so considerate about Little Ms Squirrel! Thanks for sharing that series!
I do think though that if there is a feeding place that now she can access more easily, than the one climbing-near-falling-exercise, she'll leave that bird house alone, too ... :) Squirrels are smart after all :D

Well... I have to be honest and say that normally, I wouldn't bother. I would find a way to discourage them from the feeder.

But I took this yesterday and noticed that she was nursing.... and the rest is history.
