Sometimes when I look at photos in microsoft picture viewer I get a "drawing failed" error.. They only do this after I have manipulated the photos somehow in PS. Whats going on? They don't do it all the time and most of the time I can go forward or back in the slideshow and come back to the particular photo and it will show up fine.. ??

Does everyone use the microsoft picture viewer to quickly look at pics, or show family, or should I be using something else for that?

Are you talking about jpeg files, or some other format?

seems to be sort of a common problem with windows--I did a quick google on "drawing failed" and was very surprised!

I get this once in awhile when viewing large JPGs and the viewer is full screen.
At this point I kick myself for opening the built in view to begin with and pop open Fast stone. No idea what exactly causes the problem, but I can confirm you aren't the only one.

Happens to me all the time.. I usually just retry and it works. It's a pain though for sure.

What sort of spec is your computer?

I have seen it happen on an older PC that simply didn't have enough grunt to open a very large image.

I'd confirm that, for my computer at least. Several years old, and it could be why I have this problem as well. I'm hoping to upgrade in the next few months, but for now I'm stuck.

If your trying to open lots of high res JPEG's then I can see that causing a problem.
You have to remember that when that sort of spec level was cutting edge, so was a 4MP camera, but most of the digital images being used were 1MP or less.
