So I took this image quickly on a walk with family while looking for food and didn't really have time to set a tripod or even think too much about what I was doing... :o

Being a newbie I have been shooting RAW so that I could go back and tinker later. So I'm looking for some C&C on this PP.

Original (straight from camera, slight crop, saved for web):

And my PP:

I think its a good shot with no time for composition...like the colors you got with the quick one...

Thanks for sharing,,.

It does look like its leaning towards the left a little. But other than that... I can't think of anything. :)

I like the image. I think I would have avoided pushing the saturation as high as you have - especially in the sky which now looks a little unnatural to me. I would also clone out the cables.

Nice recovery from the original. You gotta love RAW. I might clone out the pigeons and the cable.

So I looked at some of the things suggested:

straightened out the lefty-lean
cloned out telephone wires
cloned out seagulls on the roof
lowered the sat a bit

better?

Brandon,

Yes, this does look better. I still think the sky is a little over saturated, though.

Its all personal preference, but I like the saturation in the firt better.

I like the first, and other than the cables (already fixed) I would have cropped it just a tiny bit tighter so the only house visible on the right would be the red one. The barely showing fronts of the other two don't really do anything but clutter that edge.

Very nice.

I like the saturation in the first image.
I would try saving a copy with the clouds in the distance removed. If you had the clouds removed, the cables removed, and the birds/gulls removed then I think it would look great - with a bit of a surreal feeling. But right from the beginning i liked it a lot.

Gear: Canon 70D, 18-135mm, 100-400mm L II. C&C welcomed and appreciated.

I think that you made an outstanding recovery from the original RAW file. Also, the composition is quite good. The saturation seems just a bit too high. Straighten the image is the only other suggestion that I agree with. Other comments about cloning out various things in an image are personal preference things and an opportunity to play with Photoshop tricks, but are not valid critique points in evaluating someone's work.
