My first post to POTN - a morning snapshot from an insomniac!

Taken with 40D w/ 18 -55 lens and a fairly crummy 0.5x wide angle adapter...

Looks to me like the wide angle adaptor has degraded the image quality... you'd have been better just backing up, if possible.

Yeah - I guessed that! Sadly I had a house behind me, so that's as far away as I can get!

We're having pretty naff weather at the moment, but if you wait til you have better light then it'll make a big difference to your pics. Not only will the light make your pics more interesting (wait for the golden light we sometimes get before sunset) but it'll mean you can get a faster shutter speed, which will prevent blur.

Thanks! I used to take a lot of film based shots with an old EOS 600 but I've been out of SLRs long enough to now have to relearn from scratch.

This was just the best of a bunch of test shots in the back garden!
