I'm looking for a small single lens bag to carry my 30d for walkaround. My Lowepro 200AW seems overkill. Will the Crumpler 2 Million Dollar Home fit the 30d? Specifically will it fit 30d + 17-40L?

NO, definitely NOT if you have hood with the 17-40L. You need at least $4MH for just the 30D+17-40L. And you probably want to get $5MH if you want to get anything else (like a flash) in it.

Take a look at Domke's F-5XB. It takes an ungripped 5D with 24-70 (hood reversed) and a 580EX (angled for direct, not bounce, flash). There's still an outside pocket for small stuff like cards, batteries.

I have my lowepro 200AW if I want to bring along more gear. I'm looking for a small holster type bag. That hood thing would be an issue. 4MH is too big. Defeats the purpose.

3MDH is the closest to a holster in the Crumpler series for camera an lens. 4MDH allows for a small prime or flash.

^ you're right. 3MDH is the smallest I can go with my 30d+ 17-40L combo. it is snug. I hope the bag will eventually expand a bit as it is new now.

thanks!
