I knew I'd have a blast at this wedding. The bride is a film photographer immigrated from Russia and said outright that she loves black and white photos (as do I... it's the only film that I shoot nowadays). She was supposed to get some rolls of this BW Russian film she loves but couldn't get any in time for the wedding. Oh well, I was looking forward to shooting some unique BW film different than my usual Ilford Delta rolls. Oh well.

So anyhow, being a photographer herself I knew she'd be totally into the photos and it would be a priority for her. So she even picked a theme, which happened to be vintage. So she got a vintage style dress, the guys were vintage too. (But she let her bridesmaids pick their own dresses, just not the colour) And the reception was to be held at our local historic park.

Her makeup artist called in and decided not to show up, so some other person had to come in and do her makeup for her. Didn't damp her spirits.

C&C appreciated!

4. 1Ds/70-200 - Ring exchange - The commissioner totally forgot about their wedding and arrived almost two hours late (after being reminded by some heated phone calls) and to top it off had alcohol on his breath. Couldn't pronounce the bride's name at all. STILL didn't damp her spirits.

These are some of the best photos that I have ever seen. I love the vintage style that you portrayed (it was icing on the cake added to theirs!)
Talk about inspirational photos and comp. Wow, I don't even know what to say. I always enjoy your work, but I probably enjoyed these the most!
#2 just blew me away with the color, angle and clarity. When I grow up, I wanna be just like you ;)

I love the group shot too.... how to you get these so crisp n clear !?!

Excellent work!

The group shot on the steps looks straight out of "Wuthering Heights" or similar.

Nice, crisp B&W. Conversions or shot that way?

Excellent work indeed Lloyd, very well done...

Quick question: Have you modded your 10-22mm to fit EF mount??

Lloyd,

These are stuning. You are the master of Canon's 10-22MM lens. What wonderful wedding photography. If I had to pick a favorite it would be #7 hands down...this is such a wonderful photo.

Just use high quality lenses and good focus! I don't have a 'sharpening workflow'. In fact, I never use photoshop USM. I personally think people OVERSHARPEN their photos too much.

These were conversions. I was supposed to shoot B&W film but that didn't pan out. So I did a lot of conversions for her.

Many think it's absolutely stupid to mod a 10-22 rather than buying a 16-35. They are closed minded. People ask me why I do it and my answer is simple... can the 16-35 zoom to 15mm? No it can't. And the 10-22 can be used to 15mm. I also use the tokina 11-16. That can be used at 14mm on full frame. That's a *LOT* wider than 16mm. And as far as I've seen, it's just as sharp and just as fast as the $2000 canon 14mm L prime. NO BRAINER.

Yeah, I was lucky because she's a photographer too so she was totally up for shooting. I suggested some night shots and she was totally game! She left the reception for the photoshoot! hahaha.

I don't think it's stupid at all... Very inventive and it obviously works for you!! Once again, a great set, well done.
