Hey everyone, just found out today that i will be heading on an alaskan cruise on august 24 thanks to my parents. I will be taking a full camera set-up, point and shoot fujifilm s5200, Canon Rebel XTI, 35-80mm, 70-300mm, Nikon f55 with black and white film. The film camera will be for my renewed passion for old-school black and white photography:) Anyways anyone got any intresting tips from your own experiances in alaska. Sorry if this topic is very large and open but whatever, any tips would be great.

Lastly i know this is a digital forum but i now there is also some old fashion B/W filmers out there. So another question to you would be i was looking at films today and was wondering what b/w film would be best for shooting in two different situations

1) northern lights

2) overcast daytime with contrast between water, ice and sky

For the northern lights i was thinking about Ilford FP5 plus (ISO 400) and for daytime Ilford Delta 100 professional (ISO 100) Any thoughts on this, i would like to shoot the Delta 100 at all times but wasnt sure if the ISO 100 would be to slow for night time situations.

Thanks everyone

If you can get a hold of them Art Wolfe did a couple trips to Alaska in the 'Travels to the Edge (external link)' series. Might give you some ideas on places and things to try. He did some really great stuff with the melting glaciers.

The three episodes are:
Alaska, Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
Alaska, Glacier Bay
Alaska, Katmai Coast
