I think my EyeOne is on the fritz - how do these look to you?

I haven't had this EyeOne Display 2 for very long, but I have reason to believe it's not quite right. Skintones that look good to me on screen are printing quite yellow. This is happening both at home (on an Eizo) and at work (on an ACD).

I know this is extremely subjective, but could you tell me how these photos look on your calibrated screens?

On my screen, the skintones look like regular anglo-saxon tones, but they print yellow. If they look yellow on your screens, then I think I have a problem.

If so, has anybody tried to return one of these before? What do you have to do to "prove" it's dodgy?

Thanks for your help.

They look accurate, but in print they'll be a bit cool. Try +1000 Kelvin.

Gee, I'm reluctant to calibrate to 7500K, that doesn't sound wise (and in any case, I won't budge from native on the ACD - it's 6400, which is pretty good). They weren't cool in print, they were yellow.

They look okay color wise. Vintage indeed.

Where and how were they printed?

Have you tried this link (external link)?

Wow, René, good find! This and the linked printer calibration page is one of the most comprehensive I've seen!

At my pro lab, who I trust a great deal. They are very very good. However, I'm going to contact them today to ask if they are aware of any problems.

That article seems to have been written for CRTs, and therefore some of the info seems a little out-of-date, and not applicable to LCDs. I'm probably wrong, however - my knowledge is light years away from yours.

Ok, here's a more contemporary photo. Again, these skintones look ... well, skintone-ish ... on my screen. How do they look to you all?

I does look kinda skin tonish but off somehow. Did you shoot raw? I tried to play with it but it is hard to make these kind of adjustments with such a tiny jpeg.

What? I didn't ask you to play with it, I just want to know if it looks yellow to you.

Tell you what, download the PDI and CTI test targets, view them on your monitor and judge for yourself. The fine differences of skin tones can be easily misjudged because of racial/ethnic assumptions and then you get the wrong feedback.

I've working on dual Eizo CG241Ws, freshly calibrated, so I think I know what I am seeing. Your family shots look slightly drab-yellowish and the young lady above looks slightly Mexican, for what that's worth.

Yes, that tallies with the printed results, and not with what I'm seeing on screen. Thanks.

This will be the second one that has failed on me - go figure.

I've got one too, that's why I suspect the eye-one.
