I've been googling for photography salons worldwide and I can't find what I'm looking for.
Having joined a photo club I will need salon acceptances to advance my star rating.
The club informs us about the upcoming National Salons in South Africa, but I would also like to try and enter some International Salons.
Any idea where I could find a timetable on the net of upcoming Salons?

If I get another 3 golds or COM's (Certificate of merit) next month, I'll advance to 2 star rating. In my first meeting I got 1 silver,1 gold & 2 COM's out of the 4 submissions allowed per month. This month I got 1 gold and 3 COM's.
To advance to the 3 star rating I will need 15 gold or COM and 1 salon acceptance.

I would appreciate your help.

Am I the only person who thinks a salon is a place where girls get their hair done and that none of this makes sense to?

I'm lost too. I even have relatives in SA. I'm normally lost when I'm they are talking to me though.

Well in that case, stop googling photo salons and start googling photo exhibitions.

potatoes potatos :-)

I found a lot of international sites mentioning "Salon photography" e.g http://www.tolee.com/html/phot230.htm (external link) so it is definitely not a South African terminology.
I'll google some more for timetables.
