EDIT - The title should read "Hatching Lacewing Larva" instead of "Hedging". Thanks, Brian, for pointing it out to me. I've just seen too much "hedging" of financial position at work ;).......my bad

Took these a few weeks ago. The entire hatching process lasted for about 30 minutes. I had some other images, but they are not as sharp due to diffraction (I forgot to dial up the aperture and it was set to f/16:(). Taken with 5d + twin lite + MPE65. All are full frame.

EDIT - Please excuse the dust specks, but these are almost given when you shoot at this mag :) I should have cleaned these up at CS3 ;)

And just two days ago I was staring at some of these little cases on the end of a leaf wondering what the could possibly be! Great pictures, and thanks for answering my question before I got a chance to ask it!

LOL..........what I really mean is "hatching"........ I think I've just heard the word "hedging" too much at work (related to financial derivatives) Thanks for pointing this out ;)
