Too slow. My dad bought one instead of a P series Epson... what a waste of time. Sure it's nice and small and portable, with wifi, but who cares when it's about as fast as a parked car. Ditto. ~ Jeff

Uploading pics to this laptop was much quicker than my Epson P-3000. Plus, I can keep an eye on my business with it. This is my reason for purchasing it. If the Epson is more convenient for you, than so be it. Don't get me wrong. I love my Epson but, it's just too slow for me imo. I did a little test with uploading pics (Epson) and my little laptop was way faster than my Epson. Try uploading 1Ds MK III RAW files and see who wins!![]() That's why I skipped a generation and went from th P-2000 to the P-7000. The P-3000 didn't seem like much of an improvement. The new Epsons are fast. Those laptops would choke on 21MP camera files, but I realize not eveyone has that problem, but it won't be long until it trickles down to the lower cost DSLRs. It already has to the 5DMII. ~ Jeff

About all you can do with an Epson is transfer and view the files and play music/video. With my Libretto I can do that, plus tag them with full IPTC data while it's fresh, plus back them up to DVD, plus do minor editing, plus keep up on my e-mail and surf the net, and with a bigger screen. And while the Libretto cost a bundle when it was new, you can get the same capabilities for about the same price as the Epson or similar boxes. I've been using the Libretto since early '06; I'm looking to start using an Acer Aspire One with 9" screen and 120 GB 5400 rpm SATA HDD to take its place. A bit bigger, but still fits into one of the outer pockets of my travel camera bag. And cost all of $350. Jon

Tareq "I am very lazy, a normal consumer" More info | Oct 17, 2008 17:05 | #84 I will go with Vosonic 8860, because i am not going to check my photos and edit them while i am in travel, i want the largest space and storage more, i can't be in risk to shoot about 10k shots all RAW with my 1DsIII, i may end up over 160GB, so then i need at least at least 400 or 500GB to be in safe side, i will not use internet or wifi out of my country anyway. You need to specify which "THOSE" mini-laptops are, its not helpful if we donno if it was an MSI Wind, Acer Aspire One, Asus EePc or the new Dell mini inspiron. Off course if you are NOT talking about any of the current gen "sub-notebooks" a.k.a UMPC then its not a valide argument. I wonder how long I have to hang out on POTN before I get as good as Ansel Adams ?

Boot time is quick and pretty powerful for it's size. There are other options out there but, I wanted to keep as portable as possible and not take up too much space in my bag when travelling. It definitely gets a thumbs up.
