Picture of a neigbor's delightful step grandson. I like it, but know for sure it is lacking something. Does anyone have suggestions or editing tips they can share to make this picture better? Feel free to edit...

Thanks much!

Like this photo! A simple smidge of contrast is all this needs! Good job.

Here's a quick edit of what I would do.

What software are you using to process your images?

I totally agree. Would add that their are 3 small black marks on his face (upper lip, chin and right of mouth) that could be healed out very quickly also.

I'd leave the bigger marks well alone as I think they will add to the memory's when the photo is looked at in years to come. Probably a story behind how he got those.

Add a bit of contrast and its absolutely fine, a great shot. Use curves to brighten the image and mask in the eyes though, otherwise they look too dark. A quick edit...

Like I said though, very little needed and a great shot of a very happy little guy. :D

A bit of contrast did the trick for me. I am not sure if I would have removed the spots, I think they were part of the skin and we all have imperfect skin and shouldn't have to hide it, specially on a moments notice picture like this. It isn't a full portrait to be hung, its something to be cherished.

If that was my boy, I'd be proud to hang that one :)
