From last night's car show, Used my 100mm macro lens, That's all I had with me, PP; Selective color, text type: Porsche, but the engine was a Chev!

Very nice. I have to learn to do that.

hehehe still better than ford and mopar. How do you make the image black and white while leavin the valve cover red?

Nice clean shot. I think the selective color works in context.

The image has been done in 4 layers, but still one picture. Thanx for the comments!

In Photoshop, you can select sections, and then any colour saturation etc. only applies to the selected section. So draw around the valve cover with the selection tool, invert selection, desaturate. At least that's how I'd do it.

As Adam explained, but many ways doing it. I usually just create a duplicate layer, de-saturate the top layer, select and delete the parts I want in color, so the bottom layer shows again in color. Make small corrections with the eraser if needed. The frame is another layer and the text is another, = 4

Better to use a Layer Mask to hide part of an image. Advantage is that the mask is reversible, where the effect of an eraser is not.
Need to remove a background from something?

Nice shot, really sharp and a great job with the selective coloring!

But i just had to hijack the thread with some Technology + power (let me know if you want me to remove this, just thought i'd have some fun with a quick edit)

Hey Steve, looks good, Maybe a different perspective and the red looks more like orange to me. I would try from different angles and experiment.
