Interesting that you post two pictures with radically different color balance side be side, which makes it difficult to hide.

The one on the left looks to be too yellow and the one on the right looks to be more natural. The answer to that problem is to use a Custom White Balance and get it right as you shoot.

Of the two shots, the left is the better pose. I would say she is not very experienced in posing - so, you will have to coach her.

The hands in pocket should work but notice her left hand doesn't know quite what to do.
The necklace is hanging a bit too low and makes you wonder what it is. The boat fits the environment but in my opinion ruins the composition.

In the right picture she doesn't know what to do with her legs, and the lighting is bad. Why set up to shoot directly into the sun? You used the fill flash on the left picture where it does not seem to be needed, but you left it out on the right picture where it was needed.

You will benefit from acquiring some glamour photos from scenes such as the ones here and study the lighting and poses. The model can be almost anyone that can work with you to mimic the professional shots. It's all about lighting and posing. Study how the pro's do it and copy their techniques in posing and lighting. As is the case with most photography, you want the sun lower and you want it to your side or behind you. It is much more of a handicap to work directly into the sun.

the white boat in the background shows that the white balance is off.

True. But the correct WB isn't always the "right" WB? Sometimes the shot looks better if you tweak it a bit on the "wrong" side.

I'm confused with the Correct and Right. I always go with a WB that makes the picture look like what I would have seen with my eye. I agree that somtimes you want to wonk it out for artistic effect but than you wonk it WAY out not a bit.

People generally look better two or three hundred degrees kelvin warmer than the scene's correct white balance. In the first, you're about 1100 degrees too warm. In the second, you're around 600 degrees too cool.
