Canon 400mm f2.8 L IS lens for CHEAP?

I know a photographer who is willing to sell his lens to me for a VERY good price.
Date code is UU and there are very minor surface scuffs and a ding on the outer case from use. The glass is crystal clear.

Is anyone here interested in buying it?
I was just wondering if these big things actually sell.
If I sell it for like $4700 will there be a buyer??

You should have kept quiet about the first bit!

The last two I have seen on here have been $5800 and $6000 if my memory serves me correctly. I think they were immaculate condition though.

here's an old posting...i think you're biggest problem is you're a new member and have only been trying to sell stuff...and that's a lot of money to part with online with someone without many references...i think you'd have a better shot selling it on craigslist

Unfortuantely, with internet scams running rampant, experienced denizens are very wary. When we see a new member on the boards, selling expensive gear, there is a natural tendency to be suspicious. That's why Isuggested local pick-up.

Youcould search for established POTN members in your vicinity, meet with them, show them the merchandise and ask them to confirm that you actually possess it.

Also, posting verifiable photos (not stock stuff) of the items would help.

yeah...for your 40D listing you said you didn't want to post photos because everyone's seen what it looks like before...that right there looks like a red flag on it's own...i mean this is a photography board...you've got to have a camera to take a shot of...the best thing is if you take a shot with your screenname written on a piece of paper too

Oh,, the 40D is the only one that I did not post the pics of.. maybe i should but it is already pending sale from someone in craigslist @_@
I took the pic of my 1d mark III with the 40D and did it several times and i was just tired.. Maybe I should try meeting some POTN members in my area!
