What happen to the 35L?

Did Canon stop making them?

I can not find a single online retailer selling them..

And used ones are getting sold lot higher than normal as well..

I was going to lose my 35L, but something tells me to hold on to it. :p

I checked B&H and they still do not have it in stock. I've been waiting too.

Is there any rumor about 35L II?

Not only the 35L but many of the (wide primes...24L, 28/1.8, 35L) all out of stock, just in time for me to get a 1.6 crop and some cash in my paypal account. The $'s burning a hole in my hard drive:lol:

I dont think the 35L will be replaced anytime soon. What's wrong with the current one? Mine is tack sharp wide open and has no issues, and that is the same story with most of them. It just seems like Canon is slowing production for whatever reason, possibly to cut costs for them too.

it's the first time the 35L was on rebate in a long time (longer than I can remember). As such, I think this pushed alot of people over the edge to get one. Heck, it worked on me, as I picked on up. After seeing the same lenses on the rebates every year, you loose any sense of urgency to buy the lens. But when you see a new lens show up that's not been on the rebates, it seems to excite people more, and cause them to pick it up in fear that it won't be on the rebates again.

Honestly, I think Canon may have learned something on that last rebate, and I think we might be seeing more primes show up.

It's all history to me now.. as my 35L found a new master to serve.
She was a good slave.. worked really hard for me..
I will definitely miss her..

Oh well.. got me a new slave now. Miss 24-70.
And she is one big gal!
