I like the idea of having to end caps glued together,May try that one! I thought I would put my two cents in. Although it seems I can never find the "perfect" bag for my situation(s),so,I have come up with this. I went to my neighborhood Wally-World (Wal-Mart) to pick up some odds and ends. I happen to walk by an aisle with collapsable cooler bags/lunch box items..I happen to see this particular insulated sandwich bag,and then suddenly, a light went off! I spent a whole $6 (on two of them). I do not have an "official" camera backpack,but I do have a nice Jansport daypack,and I have been trying to incorporate that with my camera gear with no luck. So I took these sandwich bags,and slipped in my XTi w/ 70-300 lens....perfect fit,with some room to spare. I took the other bag I purchased and put my 18-55 kits lens and 28-80 lens in the bottom,and also a "nice" fit. I had an old sleeping camp pad (foamy thingy)laying around and cut out an insert for the bottoms of bags (to stiffen up and protect) and also another insert to secure / separate the two lenses. I am pretty sure these bags somewhat water repellant as well.I slip both bags side by side in my backpack snugly . One more thing to add,the backpack has daisy chain loops on the back,so I use that to lash a tripod to as well (see camping dept). The rest of my camera acces.(filters,mem cards,charger,etc) are secured throughout the rest of the pack. I am curious to see the reaction from people when/if they notice my "invention". I am either going to be a total idiot,or stroke of genius!!
Let me note that that this is not my full time bag..I do have a dedicated bag just for my camera equip. I wanted something to carry any/everything I need on an outing (food,water,clothing,laptop,whatever the wifey needs too) Ps,sorry I couldnt show my camera in the bag, did not have P&S avail. at the time
