Amazon has had some good deals on Eneloops from time to time, too.

I always carry at least one set of 4 Eneloops with me when I carry my 580EX. There are some other brands out there that have the same sort of low discharge storage, but Eneloops are the only ones I've tried.

I second Thomas Distributing. I don't have a 580 flash, but I use the Maha Powerex in my S3 and they work great and last a long time and hold a charge longer then any other battery I have used.

+1 for Eneloops - they really do hold their charge well, and the capacity is just fine.

I did get some GP Recyko's with a charger I bought a while ago, but promptly misplaced them, so I didn't really get a chance to test them. ;)
