My wife and I have been away from photography for a few years and are now just getting back into it. The ocean photo was taken with a 35mm several years ago. The image was scanned so the quality is diminished. With this photo we are more interested in your thoughts on composition. We bought a Canon 20D recently. The photo of my granddaughter was our first attempt with a DSLR.

The seashore picture needs a human, or two, in it somewhere for scale, if nothing else.

The picture of the child is reminiscent of the art of the period 1900 - 1940. The lighting is providing good 3-dimensionality.
