I'm somewhat new to the area of weather photography. I recently purchased an S5 and was wondering if anyone has some tips on taking pictures of Lightning. Any insights would be helpful.

Aug 11, 2008 11:29 | #3 Thanks for the reply. I looked some of the thread links below. I happened to have an opportunity to take some pictures of lightning on Saturday using my camera. I had the apeture set to f/6.3, ISO 100 and 1 sec shutter speed set to continue shot. And below are a couple images that I was able to get. PhotosGuy Cream of the Crop, R.I.P. More info | Aug 12, 2008 09:15 | #4 Good ones. I'd have stopped down more than f/6 though just for the lightning. You could always PS in a 2nd exposure of the foreground if you needed to see some detail in it. FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...
