I would like a way to remotely trigger my shutter from say 50 ft away or even more. I shoot a Rebel XT and have a wireless remote, but it is only good out to about 15 ft and you have to be in front of the camera, or at least in that general area. A wired remote is made, but only has a cord of about 2 ft. Is there something out that that is longer or some type of wireless device that I am not aware of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps it was a result of anxiety.

I have been using a $30 ebay elcheapo (external link) for yonks & its worked flawlessly (mine is a 20D/30D model). They say its good for 300 feet & i have certainly used it at 200 feet not a worry. Works through concrete walls at a distance also.

Its a great cheap working product.

I heard there is this AWESOME shop that sells a product just like the one you need. You can extend the cable with an easy to find headphone extension cable.

If you want reliable get pocket wizards and the correct cable to trigger the camera.

Thanks for the input. I ordered a wireless RF trigger from somewhere in Hong Kong. Its suppose to work up to 300 feet. I'll let you know how it works.

If you know anyone who is into radio controlled models, some of that gear could be used to trigger a camera up to about 1/2 mile away under the right conditions.

Just get some Pocket Wizards. They will fire up to 1600 feet away or so.
